Client-facing reinsurance advisory internship

Closer to client advisory than a modelling-heavy IC role because analysis is prepared for proposals, transactions, and strategic insurance decisions.

P&C actuarial summer internship in Guy Carpenter’s Global Analytics Advisory team, based in Atlanta with at least three office days per week. You’ll analyze client data, support reinsurance pricing and transactions, use MetaRisk, and help develop portfolio, capital, and volatility insights for insurance clients. The role is open to bachelor’s students, with CAS exam progress and technical experience preferred.

Requirements

Must have

  • Pursuance of a bachelor's or equivalent degree
  • Work at least three days per week in the office

Strongly preferred

  • STEM-focused major preferred (open to all majors)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Problem-solving skills and financial aptitude
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
  • Collaborative, team-oriented with effective interpersonal skills
  • Organized and detail oriented

Nice to have

  • Relevant prior work experience
  • At least one Actuarial Exam passed
  • Interest in or progress towards CAS exams
  • Familiarity with programming languages/visualization tools
  • Technical experience at a reinsurance broker, market, or cat model software vendor
  • Prior experience in insurance/reinsurance or understanding of reinsurance industry
