Client-facing health consulting

Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy IC role because engagement leadership and renewal discussions matter as much as the analysis.

Senior Health actuarial consulting role with Mercer in Irvine, California. You will lead employer health benefits engagements covering financial projections, plan design, underwriting, benchmarking, and renewal negotiations, while guiding junior staff and serving as a key client contact.

Requirements

Must have

  • BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience, including health and benefits consulting
  • Work in local office at least 3 days per week

Strongly preferred

  • Proven progress toward ASA designation
  • Client-facing experience
  • Strong analytical skills and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in health benefits actuarial consulting
  • Strong R and Python programming for data manipulation, modeling, and automation
  • ASA credentialed
