Closer to a modelling-heavy individual contributor than a reserving-cycle role because innovation, predictive analysis, and strategic technical influence outweigh routine close reporting.

Senior remote P&C actuarial role on Nationwide’s E&S/S Specialty Reserving team, available across the lower 48 U.S. states. You’ll lead complex reserving analysis, predictive modeling, peer review, and strategic recommendations while partnering with finance, underwriting, pricing, product, executives, regulators, and auditors.

Requirements

Must have

FCAS or equivalent actuarial designation
Seven or more years of actuarial experience

Strongly preferred

Expert knowledge of actuarial methodologies, statistical analysis, and models
Experience in P&C reserving, E&S, or specialty commercial insurance
Ability to source, manipulate, and interpret data within established requirements
Strong communication skills to explain complex analysis to varied audiences
Experience preparing and presenting actuarial findings to senior leaders
Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or related field

Nice to have

Experience using predictive modeling or data mining
Experience developing cross-functional work plans
Experience advising on product development or profitability
Experience representing organization with regulators or auditors
Experience mentoring or teaching others software/tools
