Role Summary

Role type

Insurance regulatory and compliance actuarial role

Closer to regulatory compliance than a pricing-underwriting partner role—the work is driven by statutory review, hearings, and consumer protection rather than live insurer deal decisions.

Senior Health actuarial role with Colorado’s Division of Insurance in Denver. You’ll review ACA and individual health rate filings, evaluate rating models and assumptions, develop statistical analysis, and support regulatory guidance. The role is hybrid, with office attendance and travel scheduled according to business needs.

Requirements

Must have

  • 8 years of actuarial work experience (or bachelor's degree plus 4 years)
  • Successful passing of reference check and/or background check
  • Ability to travel independently, including work in-office as required

Strongly preferred

  • Experience reviewing rate submissions from insurance carriers, including ACA and ASOPs
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze rate filings
  • Experience creating reports based on research and actuarial analysis
  • SOA credential (ASA/FSA) or working toward it
  • Experience with VBA, scripts, and/or macros
  • Experience conducting data analysis with large volumes of data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate solutions and solicit compromise with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
