Role type

Technical actuarial project lead

Closer to a modelling-focused individual contributor than an underwriting partner because the scope spans multiple actuarial disciplines and method development, not primarily live deal support.

Associate-level P&C actuarial role in The Hanover’s Personal Lines team, based in Worcester, Massachusetts, with hybrid work available across CT, MA, or MI offices. You’ll lead pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, regulatory, and broader actuarial projects while advising business partners and mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of technical experience in multiple LOB and/or actuarial disciplines (pricing, reserving, predictive modeling)
  • ACAS designation or higher
  • Detailed understanding of actuarial concepts/methods
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose business problems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
  • Intermediate programming skills, preferably SQL
  • Ability to multitask and meet all deadlines with quality product
  • Effective communication of technical and business concepts

Nice to have

  • Pursuit of FCAS professional designation
