Senior retirement actuarial leadership role in Pacific Life’s Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Pricing Team, based in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. You’ll oversee post-sale pricing, repricing, contracting support, operational governance, and transformation while advising pricing actuaries on complex transactions. The hybrid schedule requires four days in the office.
Requirements
Must have
Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience
Minimum 5 years of direct Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) pricing experience
Strongly preferred
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
Strong understanding of PRT pricing methodologies, transaction structures, and industry practices
Prior experience in PRT pricing, product development, inforce management, or related actuarial leadership roles
Experience evaluating and defending actuarial assumptions, methodologies, and recommendations with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed environment
Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution and operational leadership
Nice to have
Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation
Significant experience with PRT transaction pricing
Experience supporting buy-in transactions and complex contractual negotiations
Experience with the reprice process, profitability monitoring, and inforce management
Knowledge of actuarial modeling platforms, including Prophet
Experience with Snowflake, data modernization initiatives, or AI-enabled business solutions
