Closer to a pricing and underwriting partner than a pure people-leadership role—the team mandate is tied to live portfolio and product decisions.
Director-level Life actuarial pricing role in Montpelier, Vermont, leading pricing strategy for an Individual Life portfolio. You will oversee assumptions, models, profitability analysis, governance, repricing, and a Life Pricing team while advising senior leadership and partnering across underwriting, product, finance, distribution, and risk.
Requirements
Must have
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Onsite work in Montpelier, VT for 4 days per week
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- FSA designation
- 12-15+ years of actuarial experience within life insurance industry
- Significant experience in life insurance pricing or product development
- Deep knowledge and experience with Individual Life Insurance products (Indexed UL, Term, Whole Life)
- Strong familiarity with U.S. Stat, GAAP, and Tax regulations
- Experience developing and evaluating actuarial pricing models, assumptions, profitability analyses
- Experience partnering across product management, underwriting, finance, distribution, risk management
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing actuarial teams
- Ability to communicate complex actuarial matters and influence senior stakeholders
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
- Proficiency with MG-ALFA
