Role Summary

Role type

Modeling-heavy individual contributor

Closer to a modeling-heavy IC role than a reserving cycle role—the differentiator is AXIS model ownership and structural change, not routine close reporting.

Senior Life actuarial modeling role with MassMutual’s Life Valuation Modeling Team, available in New York, Springfield, or Boston. You’ll use AXIS to support statutory, GAAP/LDTI, and tax valuation for whole life, term, UL, and VUL products, while improving models, controls, and governance. The role requires an ASA, at least four years of actuarial experience, and AXIS experience.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, data science, computer science, engineering, or related quantitative field
  • ASA designation
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience in insurance, financial services, or related quantitative field
  • 1+ years of experience with AXIS modeling software

Strongly preferred

  • Experience with life insurance valuation, statutory/GAAP/tax reporting, and regulations
  • Proficient with MS Excel and SQL
  • Experience with Principle-Based Reserves, valuation regulations, product design, modeling assumptions, and inforce policy data

Nice to have

  • FSA designation (preferred, not required)
