Role type

Modeling-heavy individual contributor

Closer to a modeling-heavy IC than a reserving/reporting cycle role because model design, infrastructure, controls, and software limitations are central.

Associate Life actuarial role in MassMutual’s Life Valuation Modeling team, based in New York, NY, Springfield, MA, or Boston, MA. You’ll support statutory, GAAP/LDTI, and tax valuation for individual life products, using AXIS to build, update, control, and explain valuation models and results.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative or technical field
  • ASA designation
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience within insurance, financial services, or a related quantitative field
  • 1+ years of experience with AXIS

Nice to have

  • FSA designation
  • 4+ years of experience with AXIS, including model leadership or stewardship roles
  • Experience with Principle-Based Reserves, valuation regulations, product design, modeling assumptions, and inforce policy data
  • Proficient with MS Excel and SQL
  • Understanding of modeling infrastructure such as ELink, GridLink, and output databases
