Closer to an underwriting partnership role than a modelling-heavy IC position because program oversight and business influence are central to the stakeholder interaction.

Senior Life actuarial pricing and product management role with MassMutual’s Life Pricing & Profitability team in Springfield, Massachusetts. You’ll evaluate underwriting programs, analyze portfolio profitability and emerging experience, support product pricing, and communicate insights through dashboards and management reporting. The role requires an ASA and 5+ years of actuarial experience; FSA is preferred.

Requirements

Must have

ASA designation
5+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, experience studies or related actuarial functions
1+ years of experience working with life insurance products
2+ years of experience with actuarial models
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

Strongly preferred

FSA designation
Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to document complex issues
Ability to use a disciplined work approach to initiatives, projects, and day-to-day activities
Ability to work cross-functionally to reconcile competing priorities
Sound business judgment in an environment of rapid change
Comfortable dealing with both complexity and ambiguity

Nice to have

Experience with accelerated underwriting programs
Power BI, experience studies and data management experience
Life insurance pricing experience and exposure to coding/programming
