Model-building individual contributor

Closer to a modelling-heavy IC than a transformation role—the platform conversion supports ongoing actuarial model ownership rather than a standalone systems build.

Senior Life modeling actuary role in Springfield, Massachusetts, supporting participating whole life products and dividend management. You will own and modernize Python-based actuarial models, partner with subject matter experts on validation and governance, and gradually contribute to assumption development, regulatory testing, and dividend liability analysis.

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, engineering, or related quantitative/technical field
  • ASA designation
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience within insurance, financial services, or a related quantitative field
  • 3+ years of Python programming experience supporting analytical, actuarial, or modeling applications
  • Experience developing, maintaining, validating, or enhancing actuarial, financial, or other complex quantitative models
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions while independently managing multiple priorities

Nice to have

  • FSA designation
  • Experience with the design, pricing, modeling, or inforce management of participating life insurance products
  • Experience modernizing or converting legacy actuarial models into modern platforms
  • Understanding of model controls, governance, and risk management, including ability to implement best practices
