Role Summary

Role type

Structured student development programme

Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy role because mentoring and workshops frame a temporary project-based experience.

Paid 10-week Health actuarial and analytics internship in Binghamton, New York, for undergraduate or graduate students. You’ll analyze medical claims, evaluate healthcare cost-saving opportunities, estimate financial impacts, and present findings while working with medical economics, clinical, and data analytics teams.

Requirements

Must have

  • Must be in good academic standing

Strongly preferred

  • High school diploma and proof of continuous full-time enrollment in a college degree program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills
  • Proactive approach with creativity and flexibility
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region

Nice to have

  • Desired majors: Actuarial, Statistics, Math, Economics or similar
  • Preferred experience with Excel, SAS, SQL, R, or Python
  • Experience communicating across various teams
