Role type

Actuarial transformation builder

Closer to a transformation/build role than a pricing-underwriting partner—the first L&H hire is creating infrastructure and standards rather than joining an established pricing team.

Senior remote US life and health actuarial role for an FSA. You will be the first L&H actuary, owning health, life and annuity rate and form filings from pricing through regulatory approval, while building rating infrastructure and progressing toward appointed actuary responsibilities.

Requirements

Must have

  • FSA designation
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
  • Qualified under US Qualification Standards for actuarial opinions
  • At least 3 years of actuarial experience in life or health

Nice to have

  • Filed through SERFF under own name
  • Experience with ACA rate filings or LTC/disability rate increases
  • Experience with principle-based reserving or end-to-end product development
  • Experience inside a state insurance department or health rate review
  • Comfortable with regulatory scrutiny of predictive models and algorithmic underwriting
  • Learn quickly, take ownership, and work in a building-stage actuarial department
