Role Value Proposition
Responsible for USGAAP reporting and analysis in the Malaysia Center of Excellence (CoE) for the assigned Local Business Units (LBU): Japan/Korea. Collaborates with the LBU on related business concerns and also drives continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for USGAAP actuarial financial reporting (e.g. DAC, VOBA) for assigned LBU and feed journal entry support information to Controllers group
- Interfaces with LBU to understand requirements and leads the delivery of high quality solutions
- Calculates and reviews GAAP reserves according to principles and Standards of Practice (SoPs)
- Collaborates with peers to fully understand the needs and issues related to assigned LBU
- Assist LBU to address questions from auditors and regional office
- Execute and improve existing controls on the reporting process
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operation of assigned team
- Provides technical direction to assigned team, identifies competency gaps and collaborates to close gap
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required
- Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science and 5+ year working experience
- Good progress in SOA Actuarial Examination close to qualification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to analyze, interpret and address customer needs
- Experience on actuarial and coding software such as Python, Prophet or Axis is useful
