Client-facing Health actuarial consultant
Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy individual-contributor role, because advisory work, proposals, presentations and client relationships are core to the position.
Manager-level Health actuarial consulting role with EY’s Health and Welfare Actuarial team, serving employer health, retiree health, dental and vision programs. You’ll lead pricing, cost projections, plan design, reserves, vendor strategy, transactions and compliance work while advising US and global clients. The role is available in Dallas, Cleveland, Houston, Salt Lake City and Washington.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
- Five to ten years of work experience
- Actuarial certification: ASA, FSA, or Enrolled Actuary (EA)
- Willingness to travel and work excess hours as needed
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Lead/review H&W actuarial analyses across several areas
Strongly preferred
- Plan and execute multiple high-priority projects
- Instill accountability and strong time management in team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, and communication skills
- Coordinate client relationship strategies and manage expectations
- Strong actuarial judgment, consulting skills, and clear communication
Nice to have
- Retiree medical/OPEB valuations and ASC 715 accounting
