Pricing partner to underwriting
Closer to an underwriting partnership role than a modelling-heavy IC position because the work is judged through live programme oversight and business decisions.
Senior Life pricing and product management actuary role in Boston, Massachusetts, supporting MassMutual’s retail life insurance portfolio. You’ll evaluate underwriting programs, monitor profitability and emerging experience, support product pricing, and partner with Underwriting, Medical, New Business, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- ASA designation
- 5+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, experience studies or related actuarial functions
- 1+ years of experience working with life insurance products
- 2+ years of experience with actuarial models
Nice to have
- FSA designation
- Experience with accelerated underwriting programs
- Experience with Power BI, experience studies and data management
- Life insurance pricing experience and exposure to coding/programming
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and reconcile competing priorities
- Sound business judgment in an environment of rapid change
- Takes ownership and is results-orientated
