Role Summary
This role is part of the Financial Lines Reserving team at The Hartford, supporting a diverse specialty portfolio including D&O, E&O, EPL, Cyber, and Fidelity/Crime. Responsibilities include conducting reserve studies, developing monitoring tools, and partnering with Claims and Pricing to evaluate reserve adequacy and inform business decisions. Candidates pursuing exams or not pursuing exams are considered; this role may be part of the Actuarial Student Program for qualified individuals. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement in Hartford, CT, Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, or Columbus, OH, or remote for non-local candidates.
Key Requirements
- 4+ years of P&C actuarial experience; reserving experience preferred
- Near to recent ACAS preferred
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Excel skills required
- SQL, VBA, R, or Python experience a plus
