Role type

Reinsurance pricing partner to brokers

Closer to a live-business pricing partner than a back-office modelling role because broker, client, and reinsurer interaction is central to the work.

Senior P&C reinsurance actuarial role with Guy Carpenter in Seattle, supporting reinsurance pricing, risk analysis, catastrophe modelling, and underwriting decisions. You’ll work directly with brokers, clients, and reinsurers, build MetaRisk analyses, and guide junior team members. The hybrid role requires at least three days in the office each week.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, Accounting, Physics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of actuarial or related experience in underwriting, brokerage, or P&C insurance
  • At least one actuarial exam completed

Strongly preferred

  • Curious, proactive, and growth-oriented, with ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to brokers and clients
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products

Nice to have

  • 1+ year of experience or internship in insurance or reinsurance
  • Progress towards CAS track
  • Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, or Power BI
