Reinsurance pricing partner to brokers

Closer to a live-business partner than a modelling-heavy IC because broker, client, and transaction involvement is central to the role.

Senior P&C reinsurance actuarial role with Guy Carpenter in San Francisco, operating on a hybrid schedule. You’ll assess risk exposures, build MetaRisk analyses, support reinsurance transactions, advise brokers and clients, and guide junior team members. The role suits candidates with 2+ years of P&C or related experience and at least one actuarial exam.

Requirements

Must have

  • 2+ years of actuarial or related experience in underwriting, brokerage, or P&C insurance
  • At least one actuarial exam completed
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, Accounting, Physics, or a related field

Strongly preferred

  • Curious, proactive, and growth-oriented, with ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to brokers and clients
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products

Nice to have

  • 1+ year of experience or internship in insurance or reinsurance
  • Progress towards CAS track
  • Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, or Power BI
