Closer to multi-client consulting than an in-house underwriting partner because the work spans client relationships, proposals, and practice growth.
Senior Health Actuary role in Mercer’s Actuarial and Financial Group, serving large employer health and benefits clients from a Marsh office near Phoenix, Arizona. You’ll lead complex consulting engagements, advise clients, develop team members, support business development, and help build the health actuarial practice. The role is hybrid, with at least three office days per week, and requires an ASA or FSA.
Requirements
Must have
- Work in office at least 3 days per week
Strongly preferred
- ASA or FSA credential
- Consulting experience with large clients (10,000+ lives)
- Relevant experience in group health and benefits
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver complex presentations and recommendations
- Experience leading and developing team members
Nice to have
- Demonstrated success in business development and identifying growth opportunities
- Experience leading successful intellectual capital projects related to health actuarial services
- Expertise in innovative networks, health plans, data science, or predictive analytics
