Closer to capital and ERM strategy than a reserving or pricing cycle role, because enterprise risk and capital attribution—not a single P&C function—drive the scope.
Senior P&C risk and capital modelling role with The Hartford’s Risk and Profitability Measurement team in Hartford, Connecticut, also available in Chicago or Charlotte. You’ll enhance Economic Capital parameterization, capital attribution, sensitivity testing, and risk-adjusted profitability analysis across P&C lines while partnering with ERM, Pricing, Reserving, Treasury, and Finance.
Requirements
Must have
- 4+ years of experience in insurance industry with background in actuarial, risk, Economic Capital, ERM, or financial modeling
- Strong technical and analytical skills including Excel and working with large datasets and quantitative models
- Hybrid work expectation in Hartford CT, Chicago IL, or Charlotte NC; remote considered for non-local candidates
Strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners across functional areas
- Innovative and results-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with R, Python or other programming languages
- Experience with Igloo modeling software
