Closer to client-facing consulting than a modelling-heavy IC role—the work includes client recommendations, presentations, and relationship support.
VP-level P&C actuarial consulting role in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a hybrid three-days-in-office schedule. You will deliver complex reserving and liability analyses, build bespoke actuarial models and analytics tools, advise clients, and lead multiple project workstreams. The role suits an experienced reserving actuary with 5+ years of experience; ACAS or FCAS is preferred.
Requirements
Must have
- 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience with a strong reserving background
Strongly preferred
- ACAS/FCAS preferred
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical & problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, R, VBA, or SQL
- Ability to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytics techniques, process and output
- Statistics skills, including GLM, Bayesian probability, and other machine-learning techniques such as decision tree / random forest etc.
