Regulatory and financial reporting specialist

Closer to a regulatory compliance role than a standard reserving cycle position because NSA monitoring, data reliability, and regulatory developments shape the work.

Mid-level Health actuarial analyst role on Horizon BCBS of New Jersey’s newly created No Surprises Act team in Newark, with remote work permitted for eligible nearby states. You’ll support reserving, forecasting, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, data quality, and process ownership while partnering across actuarial, finance, operations, legal, HNS, vendors, and senior leadership.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or related
  • 2+ years of actuarial and/or statistics experience or attainment of ASA
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced proficiency with SAS
  • Trend, actuarial forecast and reserves experience

Strongly preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Strong mathematical skill and statistical analysis abilities
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex data processes, investigate issues and drive resolution

Nice to have

  • ASA candidate
  • Knowledge of NSA regulations
