Mid-level remote Health actuarial role supporting Horizon’s newly created No Surprises Act team from Newark, New Jersey. You’ll work across reserving, forecasting, financial reporting, data quality, and regulatory analytics, partnering with Finance, Operations, Legal, vendors, and senior leadership. The role requires 2+ years of experience or ASA-level attainment and offers $79,100-$105,945 annually.
Requirements
Must have
- 2+ years actuarial/statistics experience or ASA designation
- Bachelor's degree (preferably Math, Stats, Actuarial Science or related)
- Expert knowledge of Excel
- Advanced proficiency with SAS, SQL, R, Python, Snowflake or similar analytical tools
- Trend, actuarial forecast and reserves experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking
- Strong mathematical skill and statistical analysis abilities
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
Strongly preferred
- Health insurance, healthcare, or managed care experience
- Knowledge of NSA regulations
- Knowledge of AI tools and concepts
- ASA designation highly preferred
- Ability to take ownership of complex data processes and drive resolution
Nice to have
- ASA candidate status (a plus)
