Closer to a data-science crossover than a traditional pricing role because predictive modelling and broader decision science are central, not just actuarial rate analysis.

Senior P&C actuarial data science role with the American Modern Predictive Analytics team in Athens, Georgia. As a Principal Data Scientist, you'll lead personal lines pricing model strategy, develop and monitor predictive models, support regulatory filings, and influence business decisions across residential property and recreational insurance. The role is hybrid and requires FCAS.

Requirements

Must have

  • FCAS designation
  • 6 or more years of data science/predictive analytics experience in insurance
  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
  • No visa sponsorship available

Strongly preferred

  • Experience in multiple programming languages, including R and Python
  • Deep understanding of GLMs and GBMs
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP)
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
  • Experience working in an agile team environment (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Strong commitment to testing, validation, and continuous improvement
  • Proven experience with project management and prioritization

Nice to have

  • Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms
