Closer to a capital and risk strategy role than a pure pricing partner role because it spans enterprise transactions, captive oversight, accounting bases, and senior strategic recommendations.

Director-level Life and annuity reinsurance role with Pacific Life’s Ceded Reinsurance team in Newport Beach, California, with Omaha and Charlotte also available. You’ll lead enterprise reinsurance arrangements, negotiate structures and terms, analyze complex transactions, manage captive and inforce programs, and advise senior stakeholders across accounting, tax, legal, pricing, and risk.

Requirements

Must have

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or career Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation

Strongly preferred

10+ years of life insurance, annuity, and/or reinsurance experience
Strong influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strategic, technical, and analytical mindset
Effective project management skills with ability to move several different projects forward in parallel
Ability to lead multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with thoughtful prioritization and planning

Nice to have

Prior experience with reinsurance preferred
Prior experience with non-traditional reinsurance such as capital financing
