Role Summary

Closer to a modelling-heavy IC role than a transformation build: the core platform is established AXIS, with improvement projects alongside it.

Senior US Life actuarial role on Transamerica’s Model Development and First Line Validation team. You’ll work with AXIS models across Life, Health and Annuity, supporting valuation, US GAAP, statutory and IFRS 17 calculations, model assurance, and economic capital work. The hybrid role requires three days per week in a Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Denver hub.

Requirements

Must have

Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field
5 years of relevant experience
FSA or equivalent professional designation
In lieu of FSA: ASA or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience
In lieu of Bachelor's: Master's in a listed discipline and 4 years of relevant experience

Strongly preferred

High-quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills
Ability to communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts
Work well under pressure and within time constraints
Excellent computer skills
Experience with AXIS models across Life, Health and Annuity

Nice to have

Strong technical skills with Microsoft SQL Server, VBA, Alteryx, Python or R
