Closer to a modeling-heavy IC role than a routine reserving cycle role because AXIS model design, infrastructure and stewardship are central to the position.

Associate Life actuarial role on MassMutual’s Life Valuation Modeling Team in Springfield, Massachusetts, with additional locations in New York and Boston. You’ll use AXIS to support statutory, GAAP/LDTI, and tax valuation for individual life products, including cash flow testing, model updates, financial reporting, and governance.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related quantitative field
  • ASA designation
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience in insurance or financial services
  • 1+ years of experience with Axis modeling software

Nice to have

  • FSA designation (preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience with Axis, including model leadership or stewardship roles
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of long-term independent projects
  • Proficient with Axis features such as DataLink, investment cells, scenario files, and embedded block processing
  • Understanding of modeling infrastructure such as ELink, GridLink, and output databases
  • Experience with Principle-Based Reserves, valuation regulations, product design, modeling assumptions, and inforce policy data
  • Proficient with MS Excel and SQL
