Closer to a business-facing pricing partner than a pure modelling IC because rate adequacy insights must shape state strategies and be adopted by Product and Claims stakeholders.
Director-level P&C pricing role in The Hartford’s Personal Insurance Actuarial team, focused on Homeowners rate adequacy in Hartford, Connecticut. You’ll lead a team, advance pricing methodology with statistical modeling and machine learning, and partner with Product, Claims, Reserving, and enterprise Property Actuarial teams. The role offers hybrid work from Hartford, Chicago, or Charlotte, with remote consideration for candidates outside those hubs.
Requirements
Must have
- Minimum 5 years P&C actuarial experience
- High proficiency in Excel
Strongly preferred
- Undergraduate degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field
- FCAS designation
- Knowledge of actuarial pricing techniques
- Experience with R/SQL
- Effective oral and written communications skills
- Independently motivated
- Teamwork skills including ability to collaborate with and influence individuals at different levels
