Closer to an underwriting partnership role than a modelling-heavy IC position because the ad prioritizes timely pricing recommendations for new and renewal business.
Senior P&C reinsurance actuarial role in the UFG Actuarial Department, supporting pricing for an Assumed Re book in the Alternative Distribution segment. You’ll review new and renewal business, maintain rating tools, support premium forecasting, and partner with underwriting, CAT modeling, and claims. The role is available remotely or in a hybrid arrangement in the United States.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
- Progressing towards ACAS/FCAS designation in the Casualty Actuarial Society
- 4+ CAS exams including MAS-I or MAS-II
- 4+ years of experience in an actuarial role
- Reinsurance pricing experience
- Strong technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have
- Proficiency with SQL, Python and/or R
- Experience with pricing tools at a large reinsurance company or broker
- Knowledge of R, Python, SQL and data visualization software
